One of the greatest movies of all time will soon be shown at our Friday Flix Festival! The Sound of Music dethroned Gone with the Wind as highest grossing film of all time in 1965.  Gathering 5 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, as well as the Grammy for Album of the Year, The Sound of Music was a major success.  Set in the 1930’s The Sound of Music tells the tale of a young lady named Maria struggling to become a nun until a Navy Captain, George Von Trapp, gives her to job of governess over seven mischievous children.  Despite running off every other governess, the Von Trapp kids are quickly taught lessons of kindness, joy, and understanding by their new governess, Maria.  This timeless classic is must see film for people of all ages.
