Friday Flix Schedule - Beetlejuice
Beetlejuice (1988)
Oct 21
This film is full of gags, and is always fun to watch. Director Tim Burton, producer David Geffen, and composer Danny Elfman were all a part of the animated TV-series spin-off. In this movie, a car accident leaves newlyweds Adam and Barbara (Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin) on the edge of heaven. Unfortunately they’ve been put on a long waiting list, thus sentencing them to live as ghosts for 50 years in their old house. They’ve invested their time in decorating the house and making it their own, however a living family is moving in. Despite the couple’s best efforts to scare out these yuppies (Catherine O’Hara and Jeffrey Jones), Adam and Barbara can’t seem to spook them at all. In their desperation they call upon yellow-haired, snaggle-toothed, flatulent Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton). Can they trust Beetlejuice to help? Not after he falls in love with the living couple’s teenage daughter Winona Ryder.
